State Qualifying Meet Info



Date: Thursday, October 18, 2012
Site:    Central College Cross Country Course on Central College Campus
Time: 4:00 Girls / 4:30 Boys
Teams: Benton Community, Carlisle, Centerville, Chariton, Clarke, Fairfield, Grinnell, Knoxville, Nevada, Oskaloosa, Pella, South Tama County, Williamsburg
Awards:  Medals to top 3 teams (State Qualifiers). Medals to top 10 individuals, (State Meet Qualifiers). Girls Regional Team Champion will receive a banner and the 3 boys teams qualifying for State will receive a banner.  Awards ceremony will take place as soon as results are compiled (after the boy’s race) on the stage near the start line.
T-Shirts: limited number of t-shirts will be available on site to commemorate the event $12 / multiple colors
You may access Central’s web site to view the boys and girls courses at: http://www.central.edu/athletics/facilities/crossCountryCourse.cfm. Boys run on the 5000 course and the girls will run the 4000 course.
Athletic Trainer, Ambulance, and Portable toilets on site near the start/finish areas but no locker rooms
Inclement Weather: we are not near immediate shelter, so please plan accordingly and assist your fans and participants by directing them to either Kuyper Fieldhouse, vehicles, or school buses.
Fan Parking: You may direct your fans to park at the United Methodist Church south of Kuyper field, the Baseball/Softball parking lot along Fifield Road on the north side of campus, or park on the streets adjacent to Kuyper Fieldhouse. Please share this with your parents. Walking a significant distance will be required. We will try to have 2 courtesy carts available for senior citizens or those with special needs from Kuyper Fieldhouse Lot. 
We are guests of Central College and a premier cross country designed course as well as the United Methodist Church and DeJong’s Greenhouse. Please remind your athletes, parents, and fans to respect the properties and parking areas established.
·      Pick up garbage
·      No pets allowed at State sanctioned events
·      No tobacco products
·      Stay off the practice range and putting green
·      No signs or noisemakers
