Raiders clinch conference title
The eighth-ranked Williamsburg girls basketball team clinched its first conference title since 2006 with a 63-43 win over Center Point-Urbana on Friday in Center Point. The Raiders pulled away with a 15-8 run in the third quarter to improve to 17-2 overall and 16-1 in the WaMaC. Their 13-0 record in the West Division earned them their first WaMaC title since joining the league, and their first since leaving the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference.
Mackenzie Bigbee had four blocks to break the school career record of 133 set by Mackenzie Westcott in 2004-08. Bigbee now has 135 blocks, and also had 15 points Friday.
Paige Greiner had 16 points to lead the Raiders, and Lindsey Schlabaugh had 12 points.
