Raiders advance to state
The 11th-ranked Williamsburg volleyball team swept Oskaloosa in a Class 3A regional final Tuesday in Grinnell and earned a berth in next week's state tournament.
The Raiders won 25-20, 25-19, 25-14.
"You could tell tonight that we have matured," Williamsburg coach Emily Nordheim said. "We were resilient tonight."
Katy Wichmann had 30 assists, 15 digs and served 14-for-14 for the Raiders. Mackenzie Bigbee had 17 kills, five blocks and five digs. Lexi Belland had nine kills and 18 digs, and Lilly Lower had seven kills and two blocks.
